Thank you, but I will not be returning. I visited this temple on Mahashivratri festival '26 (today) for doing abhishekam. Since this is the only temple (that I know of) which allows one to do abhishekam on Athmalinga, we took our fasting and made sure the proceedings went well. There were 6 of us, who traveled an hour and a half from the other side of Melbourne just to do the pooja. When we reached the premise itself it was crowded, and a long queue was there to do the pooja on Athmalinga. We waited for an hour (happily). When we started doing the pooja, everyone took turns. We are all people who are living away from our home countries and these are the few festivals that make us feel at home. Since we took longer (as 6 people did their poojas) one fellow who is a Telugu guy came in and complained that they were also waiting in the queue. The volunteer who was guiding the crowd until then said nothing, but once this man raised a complaint, the volunteer passed a comment that, 'this is about civic sense'. What does that mean? If there were six different people, it was fine? But because we were a group, it was a problem? And what does civic sense have to do with this? Did we make a bigger difference than others? Or did we not raise any complaints waiting in the queue for that long? The temple didn't even had a shade for people who waited there, yet we adjusted to the 30° temperature. Doesn't the complainant wait for hours and hours in India to get Darshan? Or was he thinking that we were less than him? The temple authorities should be more organized during these events to manage such low-key situations. We didn't make an issue with him or the volunteer, only because we respected the place we were in at that time. Just to note, we won't be visiting this temple anytime after all this. It's better to go to the Shiva Vishnu temple instead. At least the environment and people there are not challenging like this.

For west this is the best South Indian temple … must visit for all … festive events are something you should definitely watch out for and attend … they have a good canteen operating few week days and over weekend … ample parking space …

Today we had our baby’s annaprasana (rice feeding ceremony). We wanted to perform it ourselves without any special pooja. Although we had already taken an archana ticket, the priests forced us to take an annaprasana ticket as well, which we were not comfortable with. We were asked to vacate the temple premises and remove all our belongings from inside the temple. So we performed the ceremony in front of the Shiva Lingam outside the temple, but even there the manager came and spoke to us using unnecessary words instead of speaking for goodness, kindness, and understanding. The whole experience felt very upsetting and commercialized. A spiritual moment for our family ended up feeling more about money than devotion.

Visited the temple a few weekends ago and I found out that they sell takeaway Indian food at the entrance. The food is delicious and authentic. --------------------------------------------- Reviewed on 2022 Visiting this temple for the first time can be a bit confused as they are currently upgrading the facility nearby the temple. According to Google Maps, you may not be able to find the temple entry, but remember to read on the signboard they provide on the roadside. It guides you to the temple parking lots as shown in the photos. There are plenty of parking lots however the lighting in the parking area needs to be improved.
